Job Description:

  • Monitor and ensure that all activities comply with relevant local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implement and manage the HSE management system in alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Conduct regular plant inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Lead and coordinate risk assessments (e.g., Job Safety Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis) for all activities, ensuring that risks are effectively identified and mitigated.
  • Develop & enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, & work permits for hazardous operations.
  • Identify and report hazards and environmental risks, ensuring that adequate controls are put in place to protect the workforce and the environment.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to all employees, including induction training, hazard awareness, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure that employees understand and adhere to all safety protocols and HSE-related policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness, encouraging active participation from employees at all levels
  • Lead incident investigations, including accidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents, ensuring root cause analysis is conducted and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Prepare and maintain incident reports, investigation findings, and corrective action plans for management review.
  • Track and report safety performance metrics, ensuring that trends are analyzed, and action plans are developed to address any issues.
  • Ensure all HSE documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with Local regulations and ISO/API standards.
  • Coordinate with government and regulatory bodies to ensure timely safety and environmental data reporting.
  • Maintain records for safety inspections, audits, training, incident investigations, and corrective actions
  • Oversee waste management, air quality, water conservation, and other environmental initiatives in accordance with ISO 14001.
  • Ensure that environmental impact assessments are conducted regularly, and that necessary environmental controls are in place
  • Lead the development, implementation, and periodic review of emergency preparedness plans, including fire, spill response, and evacuation procedures.
  • Organize and conduct emergency drills to ensure that employees are prepared for potential incidents.
  • Ensure proper emergency equipment and first aid supplies are maintained and readily available.

Education & Skills Required:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HSE management within an industrial or manufacturing environment, particularly in the oil and gas sector or manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Mechanical / Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate) or equivalent safety certification required.
  • ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 lead auditor certification preferred
  • Experience in HSE management systems and compliance with ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
